Monthly Teaching
July Focus 2010/Tamuz/Av 5770
“But in my mind I keep returning to something, something that gives me hope– that the grace of Adonai is not exhausted, that his compassion has not ended. [On the contrary,] they are new every morning!”
Lamentations 3:21-23
This is the month of Tisha B’Av. It is a time of fasting and mourning for the Jewish people because on this day many miseries have come upon them. The destruction of the first and second temple, the returning of the twelve spies where ten gave a bad report and the Lord declared that they would not enter the promised land, and when World War I began which led to the Holocaust years later.
Rabbi David Schiff will be giving a special teaching on “Fasting and Prayer” for the whole congregation on July 20th. We observe the Tisha B’Av by fasting sundown on July 19th to sundown of July 20th. On the Jewish calendar it is called the Ninth day of Av which usually occurs in July or August of the Gregorian calendar. The book of Job and Lamentations are read at this time of weeping and mourning.
Dear Watchman Warriors,
Know that the Lord remembers you everyday and night. He watches over you and all that you do. You are close to his heart and so are your prayers. I pray that you personally have a breakthrough from Adonai this month in Yeshua’s Mighty Name!
Grace
